The following pages are presented as a general explanation of many of the factors that affect EQ performance, and to illustrate how we have addressed these issues with the Oxford EQ plug in. The Oxford EQ plug-in is designed to be flexible enough to address as many of these generic types as possible from a single application, by presenting a variety of types to the user. A great many EQ designs have been developed over the years that have been attributed with qualities that lend themselves to particular uses and sounds. I am in the habit of mixing this TV show with GML option and can get good results very quickly. The GML option has a little more sound to it, a little more "grain" especially when adding gain. The MDW is "softer" and you have to push it farther (EQ laws being different) but I like the sound of it on Dialogue and on some things that need a more "transparent" EQ. The GML option was patterned after the 8200 and to my ear sounds different than the MDW.
